Tafseer of The Light · An-Noor · 24:18
And Allah makes clear to you the verses, and Allah is Knowing and Wise.

Yūnus related to me, saying: Ibn Wahb informed us, saying: Ibn Zayd said concerning وَيُبَيِّنُ اللَّهُ لَكُمُ الآيَاتِ وَاللَّهُ عَلِيمٌ حَكِيمٌ : "That which is better for us than all of this: that Allah has made this known to us so that we do not fall into it — had Allah not made it known to us, we would have perished as the people perished. For a man would say: I heard it but did not invent it nor devise it. But it was better when Allah made it known to us, so that we never fall into it again, for it is great with Allah."
And His words وَيُبَيِّنُ اللَّهُ لَكُمُ الآيَاتِ ("and Allah makes the signs clear to you"): Allah sets forth for you His proofs concerning His command and His prohibition, so that the obedient among you may be distinguished from the disobedient. وَاللَّهُ عَلِيمٌ ("and Allah is All-Knowing"): about you and about your deeds — nothing is hidden from Him — and He rewards the doer of good among you for his good, and the doer of evil for his evil. حَكِيمٌ ("All-Wise"): in His governance over His creation and in His charging them with the works to which He has obligated them and His imposing upon them the deeds He has imposed upon them.
