[Noah] said, "My Lord, support me because they have denied me."

And His word: قَالَ رَبِّ انْصُرْنِي بِمَا كَذَّبُونِ (He said: My Lord, help me because they have denied me) — that is to say: Nūḥ called upon his Lord and asked Him for help against his people, after the matter had long endured, the ages had passed, and they persisted in their error: رَبِّ انْصُرْنِي (My Lord, help me) against my people, بِمَا كَذَّبُونِ (because they have denied me) — that is to say: on account of their denial of me in that which I conveyed to them of Your message and to which I called them of Your Oneness.
