He said: "This is a parable that Allah has set forth for their gods." And he recited: ضَعُفَ الطَّالِبُ وَالْمَطْلُوبُ * مَا قَدَرُوا اللَّهَ حَقَّ قَدْرِهِ ("Weak is the seeker and the sought. They have not esteemed Allah according to His true greatness") — while they worship besides Allah that which cannot defend itself against the fly nor withstand it.
And His word: إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَقَوِيٌّ ("Indeed, Allah is surely Strong") — He says: Indeed, Allah is strong to create whatever He wills of the smallest and the greatest of His creatures. عَزِيزٌ ("Almighty") — He says: invincible in His sovereignty; nothing apart from Him is able to wrest from Him anything of His sovereignty. He is not like your gods, O polytheists, whom you call upon besides Him — those who are not capable of creating a fly and who cannot defend themselves against the fly when it snatches something from them, on account of their weakness and contemptibility.
