Allah, exalted be His remembrance, means by His word "dhālika": this which I have mentioned to you, O people, concerning the beginning of Our creation of you in the bellies of your mothers, and Our description of your states before birth and after it — as a suckling infant, in full strength, and as an aged old man — and Our drawing your attention through it to Our acting upon the dead earth by what We send down upon it of rain — so that you may believe and affirm that the One who did that is Allah, concerning whom there is no doubt. And that whatever is other than Him — what you worship of idols and images — is vain, for they have no power to do even the least of that. And that you may know thereby that the Power by which these wondrous things have been brought about does not find it difficult to thereby raise the dead after their decay and their dissolution into the earth. And that the Doer of this has Power over everything that He willed and desired — of whatever matter — nothing that He has willed escapes Him.
