It is mentioned that this verse was revealed concerning al-Naḍr ibn al-Ḥārith.
Al-Qāsim related to us, saying: al-Ḥusayn related to us, saying: Ḥajjāj related to me, on the authority of Ibn Jurayj, concerning the verse (And among the people are those who dispute about Allah without knowledge): he said: "That is al-Naḍr ibn al-Ḥārith." And by His words He means the one who disputes with Allah and claims that Allah is not able to bring the dead to life.
