But whoever comes to Him as a believer having done righteous deeds - for those will be the highest degrees [in position]:

The exposition of the interpretation of the word of Allah the Exalted: إِنَّهُ مَنْ يَأْتِ رَبَّهُ مُجْرِمًا فَإِنَّ لَهُ جَهَنَّمَ لا يَمُوتُ فِيهَا وَلا يَحْيَا (verse 74)
Allah, exalted be His remembrance, says, while informing about what the magicians said to Pharaoh: إِنَّهُ مَنْ يَأْتِ رَبَّهُ — among His creatures — مُجْرِمًا — that is: while he earns disbelief (kufr) against Him — فَإِنَّ لَهُ جَهَنَّمَ — that is: then the Hellfire (jahannam) is his abode and dwelling, as recompense for his disbelief — لا يَمُوتُ فِيهَا — so that his soul would depart from him — وَلا يَحْيَا — so that his soul would find a settled resting place and come to rest; rather, it lodges with them at the throats.
