إِنَّكَ كُنْتَ بِنَا بَصِيرًا ("Verily, You are All-Seeing of us"): Allah says: verily, You were All-Seeing of us — nothing of our deeds is hidden from You.

It has been mentioned that ʿAbd Allāh ibn Abī Isḥāq used to read: أَشْدُدْ بِهِ أَزْرِي with a fatḥa on the alif of "ashdudd," and وَأُشْرِكْهُ فِي أَمْرِي with a ḍamma on the alif of "ushrikhu" — in the sense of an announcement by Mūsā concerning himself, that he is doing this, not as a supplication. When it is read thus, "ashdudd" and "ushrik" stand in the jazm form as the apodosis of a conditional clause, or as the answer to the supplication. This, however, is a reading which I do not consider it proper to follow, even though it has an intelligible meaning, because of its deviation from the recitation of the bearers of authority (al-ḥujja), deviation from whom is not permissible.
