And peace is on me the day I was born and the day I will die and the day I am raised alive."

And His word (and peace be upon me on the day I was born, and on the day I die, and on the day I shall be raised alive): that is to say: the protection (al-amna) of Allah over me from Satan and his hosts on the day I was born — that they should not strike me with what they strike others at birth, namely the pricking therein; and on the day I die, from the terror of the moment of death; and on the day I shall be raised alive on the Day of Judgment — that the dread should not strike me which strikes mankind when they behold the horrors of that day.
As Ibn Ḥumayd related to us, he said: Salama related to us, on the authority of Ibn Isḥāq, on the authority of someone who is not suspected, on the authority of Wahb ibn Munabbih, concerning (and peace be upon me on the day I was born, and on the day I die, and on the day I shall be raised alive): he said: he told them — in the account of his report about himself — that he has no father, that he will die and thereafter be raised alive; Allah the Blessed and Exalted says: dat is ʿĪsā, de zoon van Maryam — de ware uitspraak, waarover zij twijfelen .
