He said, "Then if you follow me, do not ask me about anything until I make to you about it mention."

The explanation of the meaning of the words of Allah the Exalted: قَالَ فَإِنِ اتَّبَعْتَنِي فَلا تَسْأَلْنِي عَنْ شَيْءٍ حَتَّى أُحْدِثَ لَكَ مِنْهُ ذِكْرًا (verse 70)
Allah the Blessed and Exalted says: The learned man said to Mūsā: "If you now follow me, then do not ask me about anything that I do of what you will disapprove of — for I have already informed you that I perform my work on the basis of the unseen of which you do not possess full knowledge." حَتَّى أُحْدِثَ لَكَ مِنْهُ ذِكْرًا: "Until I myself make mention to you of the deeds which you see me performing — and which you disapprove of — and explain to you their nature and inform you of them of my own accord."
As Muḥammad ibn Saʿd related to me, saying: my father related to me, saying: my uncle related to me, saying: my father related to me, on the authority of his father, on the authority of Ibn ʿAbbās, who said concerning فَلا تَسْأَلْنِي عَنْ شَيْءٍ حَتَّى أُحْدِثَ لَكَ مِنْهُ ذِكْرًا: "That is to say: about anything that I do, until I explain to you its nature."
