Tafseer of The Night Journey · Al-Israa · 17:32

وَلَا تَقْرَبُوا۟ ٱلزِّنَىٰٓ ۖ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ فَٰحِشَةًۭ وَسَآءَ سَبِيلًۭا

And do not approach unlawful sexual intercourse. Indeed, it is ever an immorality and is evil as a way.

    Allah the Exalted says: And He has likewise decreed that you, O people, لا تَقْرَبُوا الزِّنَا (should not approach fornication) إِنَّهُ كَانَ فَاحِشَةً (indeed it was an immoral act (fāḥisha)). That is to say: fornication (zinā) was an immoral act. وَسَاءَ سَبِيلًا — He says: How evil a way is the way of fornication, for it is the way of those who disobey Allah and defy His command; how ruinous a way that leads the one who treads it to the Fire of Hell (nār jahannam).

    يقول تعالى ذكره: وقضى أيضا أن (لا تَقْرَبُوا) أيها الناس ( الزِّنَا إِنَّهُ كَانَ فَاحِشَةً ) يقول: إِن الزّنا كان فاحشة (وَساءَ سَبِيلا) يقول: وساء طريق الزنا طريقا، لأنه طريق أهل معصية الله، والمخالفين أمره، فأسوئ به طريقا يورد صاحبه نار جهنم.
