And if you should count the favors of Allah, you could not enumerate them. Indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.

وَإِنْ تَعُدُّوا نِعْمَةَ اللَّهِ لَا تُحْصُوهَا (And if you count the favor of Allah, you will not be able to encompass it): you are not capable of rendering full thanks for it. إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَغَفُورٌ رَحِيمٌ — Allah, exalted be His praise, says: Allah is forgiving toward the shortcoming that proceeds from you in the thankfulness for some of those favors, when you repent and return to His obedience and the seeking of His good pleasure; and He is merciful toward you, so that He does not punish you for it after the turning back to Him and the repentance.
