ثُمَّ أَوْحَيْنَآ إِلَيْكَ أَنِ ٱتَّبِعْ مِلَّةَ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ حَنِيفًۭا ۖ وَمَا كَانَ مِنَ ٱلْمُشْرِكِينَ

Then We revealed to you, [O Muhammad], to follow the religion of Abraham, inclining toward truth; and he was not of those who associate with Allah.

    Allah, the Exalted, says to His prophet Muḥammad ﷺ: Then We revealed to you, O Muhammad, and said to you: Follow the upright, Islamic way of life of Ibrāhīm (millatunā Ibrāhīm al-ḥanīfiyya al-muslima). حَنِيفًا — Allah says: As a Muslim upon the religion which Ibrāhīm was upon, free of the idols and rivals which your people worship, just as Ibrāhīm had freed himself from them.

    يقول تعالى ذكره لنبيه محمد صلى الله عليه وسلم: ثم أوحينا إليك يا محمد وقلنا لك: اتبع ملة إبراهيم الحنيفية المسلمة ( حَنِيفًا ) يقول: مسلما على الدين الذي كان عليه إبراهيم، بريئًا من الأوثان والأنداد التي يعبدها قومك، كما كان إبراهيم تبرأ منها.
