قَالَ إِنَّ هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ ضَيْفِى فَلَا تَفْضَحُونِ

[Lot] said, "Indeed, these are my guests, so do not shame me.

    He, exalted be His praise, says: Lūṭ said to his people: Truly, these who have come to visit you and with whom you wish to commit indecency are my guests; it is a duty upon a man to honor his guest. Do not, then, disgrace me, O people, in the presence of my guests, and show me honor by not approaching them with that which causes them harm.

    يقول تعالى ذكره: قال لوط لقومه: إن هؤلاء الذين جئتموهم تريدون منهم الفاحشة ضيفي، وحقّ على الرجل إكرام ضيفه، فلا تفضحون أيها القوم في ضيفي، وأكرموني في ترككم التعرّض لهم بالمكروه .
