They said, "But we have come to you with that about which they were disputing,

As for His word بِمَا كَانُوا فِيهِ يَمْتَرُونَ (concerning that about which they were in doubt): he said: with the punishment of the people of Lūṭ.
Al-Qāsim related to us, saying: Al-Ḥusayn related to us, saying: Ḥajjāj related to me, on the authority of Ibn Abī Najīḥ, on the authority of Mujāhid: the same.
