With the exception of the wife of Lūṭ — concerning her Allah has decreed that she is among those who remain behind: that is to say, Allah has decreed concerning her that she is among those who stay behind, after which she too perishes. The explanation of the word "al-ghābirīn" (those who remain behind), together with its proofs, we have already set forth in what precedes.
