He said, "My Lord, then reprieve me until the Day they are resurrected."

The Exalted — blessed be His remembrance — says: Iblīs said: رَبِّ فَأَنظِرْنِي إِلَى يَوْمِ يُبْعَثُونَ ("My Lord, now that You have driven me out of the heavens and cursed me, then grant me respite until the Day on which You raise up Your creation from their graves") and gather them together for the assembly on the Day of Resurrection.
