And indeed, it is We who give life and cause death, and We are the Inheritor.

The Exalted -- exalted be His renown -- says: وَإِنَّا لَنَحْنُ نُحْيِي him who was dead, when We so will, وَنُمِيتُ him who was living, when We so will, وَنَحْنُ الْوَارِثُونَ: he says: We inherit the earth and whoever is upon it by causing them all to die, so that none remains alive but Us, when the appointed term arrives.
