Take this, my shirt, and cast it over the face of my father; he will become seeing. And bring me your family, all together."

The discourse on the explanation of the statement of Allah the Exalted: اذْهَبُوا بِقَمِيصِي هَذَا فَأَلْقُوهُ عَلَى وَجْهِ أَبِي يَأْتِ بَصِيرًا وَأْتُونِي بِأَهْلِكُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ (Go with this shirt of mine and cast it upon the face of my father — he will regain his sight; and bring me all your household) (93)
Abū Jaʿfar said: It is related that Yūsuf ﷺ, after he had made his identity known to his brothers, asked them about his father. They said: His sight has gone from grief! Thereupon he gave them his shirt and said to them: (Go with this shirt of mine).

19800 - Ibn Wakīʿ related to us, saying: ʿAmr related to us, on the authority of Asbāṭ, on the authority of al-Suddī, who said: Yūsuf said to them: What did my father do after me? They said: When Binyāmīn was taken from him, he lost his sight from grief. He said: (Go with this shirt of mine and cast it upon the face of my father — he will regain his sight; and bring me all your household).
