The discourse on the explanation of the saying of Allah the Exalted: قَالَ لا تَثْرِيبَ عَلَيْكُمُ الْيَوْمَ يَغْفِرُ اللَّهُ لَكُمْ وَهُوَ أَرْحَمُ الرَّاحِمِينَ (He said: No reproach upon you this day. Allah will forgive you, and He is the Most Merciful of the merciful) (92)
Abū Jaʿfar said: Allah the Exalted says: Yūsuf said to his brothers: (no reproach) — he says: no rebuke upon you, and no impairment of what exists between me and you of the right of brotherhood and the rights of fraternity. Rather, with me you have pardon and remission.

His saying: (Allah will forgive you, and He is the Most Merciful of the merciful) — this is a supplication of Yūsuf for his brothers that Allah forgive their sin for what they had done and committed of wrongdoing. He says: May Allah remit you of your sin and your wrongdoing, and conceal that concerning you. (And He is the Most Merciful of the merciful) — he says: and Allah is the Most Merciful of the merciful toward whoever repents of his sin, and returns to His obedience by repenting of His disobedience. As:
19799 - Ibn Ḥumayd related to us, saying: Salama related to us, on the authority of Ibn Isḥāq: (Allah will forgive, and He is the Most Merciful of the merciful) — after they had acknowledged their sin.
