The explanation of the words of Allah, the Exalted: فَإِنْ لَمْ تَأْتُونِي بِهِ فَلا كَيْلَ لَكُمْ عِنْدِي وَلا تَقْرَبُونِ (If you do not bring him to me, then there shall be no measure for you with me, and do not come near me. — 12:60)
Abū Jaʿfar says: Allah, the Exalted, says — reporting the words of Yūsuf to his brothers: (fa-in lam taʾtūnī bi-h): with your brother on your father's side; (fa-lā kayla lakum ʿindī): he says: then there is with me no food that I will measure out for you; (wa-lā taqrabūn): he says: do not come near my land.
His word (wa-lā taqrabūn) is in the jussive as a prohibition, and the 'nūn' is in the accusative; it is pronounced with a kasra because its yāʾ has been omitted; and the actual text reads: 'wa-lā taqrabūnī'.
