The explanation of the words of Allah, the Exalted: وَلأَجْرُ الآخِرَةِ خَيْرٌ لِلَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَكَانُوا يَتَّقُونَ (And the reward of the Hereafter is surely better for those who believe and are God-fearing. — 12:57)

Abū Jaʿfar says: Allah, the Exalted, says: And the reward of Allah in the Hereafter is (khayrun lil-ladhīna āmanū): better for those who have accepted Allah and His Messenger as truthful, than what Yūsuf was given in the worldly life of establishment in the land of Egypt; (wa-kānū yattaqūn): He says: and who feared Allah, so that they were afraid of His punishment for going against His command and holding His forbidden things to be permissible, and they obeyed Him in His command and His prohibition.
