The discourse on the explanation of the words of Allah, the Exalted: وَلَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَا مُوسَى بِآيَاتِنَا وَسُلْطَانٍ مُبِينٍ (And indeed, We sent Mūsā with Our signs and a clear authority.) — (11:96)
Abū Jaʿfar said: Allah, the Exalted, whose remembrance be glorified, says: Indeed, We sent Mūsā with Our proofs of Our oneness (tawḥīd), and with an authority (sulṭān mubīn) that makes clear to everyone who beheld it and pondered it with a sound heart that it points to the oneness of Allah, and that everyone who claimed lordship (rubūbiyya) for himself besides Him is a liar, and that the words of everyone who set up a partner (shirk) alongside Him in divinity are rejected.
