وَلِلَّهِ غَيْبُ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَإِلَيْهِ يُرْجَعُ ٱلْأَمْرُ كُلُّهُۥ فَٱعْبُدْهُ وَتَوَكَّلْ عَلَيْهِ ۚ وَمَا رَبُّكَ بِغَٰفِلٍ عَمَّا تَعْمَلُونَ

And to Allah belong the unseen [aspects] of the heavens and the earth and to Him will be returned the matter, all of it, so worship Him and rely upon Him. And your Lord is not unaware of that which you do.

    The explanation of the words of Allah, the Exalted: وَلِلَّهِ غَيْبُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالأَرْضِ وَإِلَيْهِ يُرْجَعُ الأَمْرُ كُلُّهُ فَاعْبُدْهُ وَتَوَكَّلْ عَلَيْهِ وَمَا رَبُّكَ بِغَافِلٍ عَمَّا تَعْمَلُونَ (123)

    (And to Allah belongs the unseen of the heavens and the earth, and to Him the entire matter returns. So worship Him, and put your trust in Him. And your Lord is not unaware of what you do.)

    Abū Jaʿfar says: Allah, exalted be His remembrance, says to His Prophet Muḥammad ﷺ: To Allah belongs, O Muḥammad, the dominion over all that is hidden from you in the heavens and the earth — what you have not perceived and have not known — all of this lies in His hand and in His knowledge; nothing of it is hidden from Him. He is aware of what the polytheists (mushrikīn) of your people do, and what their final destination will be: whether they will persist in ascribing partners to Allah (shirk), or desist from it and show repentance. وَإِلَيْهِ يُرْجَعُ الأَمْرُ كُلُّهُ — that is to say: to Allah returns every deed and every doer, and He will requite them all according to their deeds. As:

    18766 — Al-Qāsim related to us, saying: Al-Ḥusayn related to us, saying: Ḥajjāj related to me, on the authority of Ibn Jurayj, concerning وَإِلَيْهِ يُرْجَعُ الأَمْرُ كُلُّهُ , that he said: "Then He will judge between them with His judgment in justice."

    فَاعْبُدْهُ — that is to say: worship your Lord, O Muḥammad. وَتَوَكَّلْ عَلَيْهِ — that is to say: commit your affair to Him, and put your trust in Him and in His provision, for He is sufficient for whoever places his trust in Him.

    As for His word وَمَا رَبُّكَ بِغَافِلٍ عَمَّا تَعْمَلُونَ — Allah, exalted be His remembrance, says: Your Lord, O Muḥammad, is not unaware of what these polytheists (mushrikīn) of your people do; rather, He encompasses that completely; nothing of it escapes Him. He keeps them under watch. So let not their aversion to you grieve you, nor their denial of the Truth that you have brought them. Proceed with the command of your Lord, for you are under Our eyes.

    18767 — Ibn Wakīʿ related to us, saying: Zayd ibn al-Ḥubbāb related to us, on the authority of Jaʿfar ibn Sulaymān, on the authority of Abū ʿImrān al-Jawnī, on the authority of ʿAbd Allāh ibn Rabāḥ, on the authority of Kaʿb, who said: "The conclusion of the Tawrāh is the conclusion of Sūrat Hūd."

    القول في تأويل قوله تعالى : وَلِلَّهِ غَيْبُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالأَرْضِ وَإِلَيْهِ يُرْجَعُ الأَمْرُ كُلُّهُ فَاعْبُدْهُ وَتَوَكَّلْ عَلَيْهِ وَمَا رَبُّكَ بِغَافِلٍ عَمَّا تَعْمَلُونَ (123) قال أبو جعفر: يقول تعالى ذكره لنبيه محمد صلى الله عليه وسلم: ولله ، يا محمد ، ملك كل ما غاب عنك في السموات والأرض فلم تطلع ولم تعلمه ، ولم تعلمه ، (11) كل ذلك بيده وبعلمه، لا يخفى عليه منه شيء، وهو عالم بما يعمله مشركو قومك ، وما إليه مصير أمرهم ، من إقامة على الشرك ، أو إقلاعٍ عنه وتوبة ، (وإليه يرجع الأمر كله) ، يقول: وإلى الله مَعَادُ كل عامل وعمله، وهو مجازٍ جميعَهم بأعمالهم، كما:- 18766- حدثنا القاسم قال ، حدثنا الحسين قال، حدثني حجاج، عن ابن جريج: (وإليه يرجع الأمر كله)، قال: فيقضي بينهم بحكمه بالعدل. * * * (فاعبده) ، يقول: فاعبد ربك يا محمد ، (وتوكل عليه) ، يقول: وفوِّض أمرك إليه ، وثق به وبكفايته، فإنه كافي من توكل عليه. (12) * * * ، وقوله: (وما ربك بغافل عما تعملون) ، يقول تعالى ذكره: وما ربك ، يا محمد ، بساه عما يعمل هؤلاء المشركون من قومك ، (13) بل هو محيط به ، لا يعزب عنه شيء منه، وهو لهم بالمرصاد، فلا يحزنك إعراضهم عنك ، ولا تكذيبهم بما جئتهم به من الحقّ، وامض لأمر ربّك، فإنك بأعيننا. 18767- حدثنا ابن وكيع قال ، حدثنا زيد بن الحباب، عن جعفر بن سليمان، عن أبي عمران الجوني، عن عبد الله بن رباح، عن كعب ، قال: خاتمة " التوراة "، خاتمة " هود " (14) (آخر تفسير سورة هود ، والحمد لله وحده)
