It is the fire of Allah, [eternally] fueled,

Then He informs him what it is, and He says — exalted be His praise: it is نَارُ اللَّهِ الْمُوقَدَةُ * الَّتِي تَطَّلِعُ عَلَى الأَفْئِدَةِ — that is to say: the Fire whose pain and heat reach the hearts; and "iṭṭilāʿ" (penetrating) and "bulūgh" (reaching) can have the same meaning — it has been transmitted orally from the Arabs: "matā ṭalaʿta arḍanā" (when did you reach our land?) and "ṭalaʿtu arḍī" (I reached my land): that is to say: I arrived at it.
