The explanation of the words of Allah the Exalted: وَمَا ظَنُّ الَّذِينَ يَفْتَرُونَ عَلَى اللَّهِ الْكَذِبَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَذُو فَضْلٍ عَلَى النَّاسِ وَلَكِنَّ أَكْثَرَهُمْ لا يَشْكُرُونَ (60)
(And what will be the assumption of those who invent falsehood against Allah on the Day of Resurrection? Indeed, Allah is full of bounty to the people, but most of them are not grateful.)
Abū Jaʿfar says: Allah the Exalted says: What do these people who invent lies against Allah think — by attributing to Him that He has forbidden them the means of sustenance and the foodstuffs that Allah has appointed as nourishment for them, while in reality He has not forbidden them — what do they think Allah will do with them on the Day of Resurrection on account of their lie and their fabrications against Him? Do they reckon that He will excuse them and forgive them? By no means — on the contrary, He will make them burn in a blazing Fire, in which they will abide forever.
إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَذُو فَضْلٍ عَلَى النَّاسِ — "Indeed, Allah is full of bounty to the people" — that is to say: Allah shows bounty toward His creatures by not punishing the one who invents lies against Him immediately in this life, but rather granting him respite until he appears before Him on the Day of Resurrection.
وَلَكِنَّ أَكْثَرَهُمْ لا يَشْكُرُونَ — "but most of them are not grateful" — that is to say: but most people are not grateful to Him for the bounty He bestows upon them therein, nor for the rest of His blessings.
