The exposition of the explanation of His exalted word: "And for every community there is a messenger. So when their messenger comes, judgment is given between them with justice, and they are not wronged." (47)

Abū Jaʿfar said: The Exalted, whose mention is blessed, says: And for every community that has passed away before you, O people, there is a messenger whom I sent to them, just as I sent Muḥammad to you, who summon those to whom they were sent to the religion of Allah and obedience to Him. "So when their messenger comes" — that is to say: in the Hereafter, as in:

17666- Al-Qāsim related to us, saying: al-Ḥusayn related to us, saying: Ḥajjāj related to me, from Ibn Jurayj, from Mujāhid: "And for every community there is a messenger. So when their messenger comes" — he said: on the Day of Resurrection.

And His word: "judgment is given between them with justice" — He says: judgment is then given between them with justice. "And they are not wronged" — nothing of the recompense of their deeds is withheld from them, but the doer of good is rewarded for his good deed. And the sinner among the people of faith: either Allah punishes him, or He forgives him. And the unbeliever is cast into the Fire forever. That is the judgment of Allah between them with justice, and that is undoubtedly justice, not injustice.

17667- Al-Muthannā related to me, saying: Abū Ḥudhayfa related to us, saying: Shibl related to us, from Ibn Abī Najīḥ, from Mujāhid: "judgment is given between them with justice" — he said: with justice.
