Tafseer of The Repentance · At-Tawba · 9:89

أَعَدَّ ٱللَّهُ لَهُمْ جَنَّٰتٍۢ تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِهَا ٱلْأَنْهَٰرُ خَٰلِدِينَ فِيهَا ۚ ذَٰلِكَ ٱلْفَوْزُ ٱلْعَظِيمُ

Allah has prepared for them gardens beneath which rivers flow, wherein they will abide eternally. That is the great attainment.

    The explanation of His word: أَعَدَّ اللَّهُ لَهُمْ جَنَّاتٍ تَجْرِي مِنْ تَحْتِهَا الأَنْهَارُ خَالِدِينَ فِيهَا ذَلِكَ الْفَوْزُ الْعَظِيمُ (89) (Allah has prepared for them gardens beneath which the rivers flow, abiding therein eternally. That is the supreme triumph.) (89)

    Abū Jaʿfar said: The Exalted, whose praise is remembered, says: Allah has prepared for His Messenger Muḥammad, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and for those who believed with him, جنات (gardens) — these are the gardens of Paradise (janna) — beneath whose trees the rivers flow. خالدين فيها (abiding therein eternally), He says: remaining therein; they do not die therein, nor do they depart from it. ذلك الفوز العظيم (That is the supreme triumph), He says: that is the great deliverance and the abundant portion.

    القول في تأويل قوله : أَعَدَّ اللَّهُ لَهُمْ جَنَّاتٍ تَجْرِي مِنْ تَحْتِهَا الأَنْهَارُ خَالِدِينَ فِيهَا ذَلِكَ الْفَوْزُ الْعَظِيمُ (89) قال أبو جعفر: يقول تعالى ذكره: أعد الله لرسوله محمد صلى الله عليه وسلم وللذين آمنوا معه (9) =(جنات), وهي البساتين، (10) تجري من تحت أشجارها الأنهار =(خالدين فيها)، يقول: لابثين فيها, لا يموتون فيها, ولا يظعنون عنها (11) =(ذلك الفوز العظيم)، يقول: ذلك النجاء العظيم، والحظّ الجزيل.
