And your companion is not [at all] mad.

His word: وَمَا صَاحِبُكُمْ بِمَجْنُونٍ ("and your companion is not possessed"). He, exalted is His mention, says: and your companion, O people — Muḥammad — is not possessed, such that he would speak out of a state of possession and rave as the possessed rave. بَلْ جَاءَ بِالْحَقِّ وَصَدَّقَ الْمُرْسَلِينَ ("rather, he has come with the truth and has confirmed the messengers").
And in agreement with what we have said concerning this, the exegetes (ahl al-taʾwīl) have spoken.
* Mention of who said that:
Sulaymān ibn ʿAmr ibn Khālid al-Barqī related to us, saying: my father ʿAmr ibn Khālid related to us, on the authority of Maʿqil ibn ʿAbd Allāh al-Jazarī, who said: Maymūn ibn Mihrān said concerning وَمَا صَاحِبُكُمْ بِمَجْنُونٍ , he said: that is Muḥammad, may Allah bless him and grant him peace.
