His statement: كَلا ("By no means"). The Exalted, whose remembrance is exalted, says: The matter is not as these polytheists (mushrikīn) claim, those who deny that Allah will raise them up alive after their death. And He, whose praise is exalted, threatens them on account of this utterance of theirs, and said: سَيَعْلَمُونَ ("They will know"). He says: These unbelievers (kuffār), who deny the threat of Allah against His enemies, will know what Allah will do with them on the Day of Resurrection. Then He affirmed the threat with a repetition at the close, and said: The matter is not as they claim, namely that Allah will not raise them after their death and will not punish them for their disbelief (kufr) in Him. They will know that the matter is otherwise than what they said, when they meet Allah and arrive at what they have sent ahead of their evil deeds.
And concerning al-Ḍaḥḥāk ibn Muzāḥim there has been transmitted regarding this what Ibn Ḥumayd related to us, who said: Mihrān related to us, on the authority of Abū Sinān, on the authority of Thābit, on the authority of al-Ḍaḥḥāk: كَلا سَيَعْلَمُونَ ("By no means, they will know") — the unbelievers (kuffār).
