إِنَّمَا تُوعَدُونَ لَوَٰقِعٌۭ

Indeed, what you are promised is to occur.

    The Exalted, praised be His mention, says: by those sent forth in succession (wa-l-mursalāti ʿurfan) — truly, that which is promised to you, O people, of matters, shall surely come to pass; it will inevitably occur. By this He means the Day of Resurrection and that which Allah has mentioned that He has prepared on that day for His creatures of reward and punishment.

    يقول تعالى ذكره: والمرسلات عرفا، إن الذي توعدون أيها الناس من الأمور لواقع، وهو كائن لا محالة، يعني بذلك يوم القيامة، وما ذكر الله أنه أعدّ لخلقه يومئذ من الثواب والعذاب.
