Upon the inhabitants will be green garments of fine silk and brocade. And they will be adorned with bracelets of silver, and their Lord will give them a purifying drink.

The Exalted, whose mention is lofty, says: to these righteous ones (al-abrār) it is then said: verily, this which We have bestowed upon you in honors was for you a reward for the good deeds which you performed in the life of this world ( وَكَانَ سَعْيُكُمْ مَشْكُورًا ) "and your striving was rewarded with thanks". He says: your work therein was rewarded with thanks; your Lord praised you for it, was pleased with you for it, and rewarded you with the honor with which He rewarded you for it.
Bishr related to us, saying: Yazīd related to us, saying: Saʿīd related to us, on the authority of Qatāda, concerning His word: ( إِنَّ هَذَا كَانَ لَكُمْ جَزَاءً وَكَانَ سَعْيُكُمْ مَشْكُورًا ) "verily, this is for you a reward, and your striving was rewarded with thanks": He forgave them the sin, and gave thanks for the good.
Ibn ʿAbd al-Aʿlā related to us, saying: Ibn Thawr related to us, on the authority of Maʿmar, on the authority of Qatāda, who said: Qatāda recited: ( وَكَانَ سَعْيُكُمْ مَشْكُورًا ) "and your striving was rewarded with thanks", he said: truly Allah has given thanks for a slight striving.
