They will say, "We were not of those who prayed,

قَالُوا لَمْ نَكُ مِنَ الْمُصَلِّينَ ("They said: we were not among those who performed the prayer"). He says: the criminals said to them: in the world we were not among those who performed the ritual prayer (ṣalāh) to Allah.
