Tafseer of The Cloaked One · Al-Muddaththir · 74:28
It lets nothing remain and leaves nothing [unburned],

لا تُبْقي ("It leaves nothing remaining") — of whoever is in it alive; وَلا تَذَرُ ("and it leaves nothing behind") — of whoever is in it dead; rather, it burns them every time their creation is renewed anew.
And in accordance with what we have said concerning this, the people of interpretation (ahl al-taʾwīl) also spoke.

Muḥammad ibn ʿAmr related to me, saying: Abū ʿĀṣim related to us, saying: ʿĪsā related to us, on the authority of Ibn Abī Najīḥ, on the authority of Mujāhid, concerning his statement: لا تُبْقِي وَلا تَذَرُ ("It leaves nothing remaining and leaves nothing behind"), he said: it does not cause to die and does not cause to live.
Al-Ḥārith related to me, saying: al-Ḥasan related to us, saying: Warqāʾ related to us, on the authority of Ibn Abī Najīḥ, on the authority of Mujāhid, something similar.
Muḥammad ibn ʿUmāra al-Asadī related to me, saying: ʿUbayd Allāh ibn Mūsā related to us, saying: Abū Laylā informed us, on the authority of Marthad, concerning his statement: لا تُبْقِي وَلا تَذَرُ ("It leaves nothing remaining and leaves nothing behind"), he said: it leaves nothing of them without devouring them, and when they are recreated for it, it does not leave them in peace until it seizes them and devours them.
