Indeed, mankind was created anxious:

Muḥammad ibn Saʿd related to me, saying: my father related to me, saying: my uncle related to me, saying: my father related to me, on the authority of his father, on the authority of Ibn ʿAbbās, concerning His words: إِنَّ الإنْسَانَ خُلِقَ هَلُوعًا ("Truly, man was created impatient"), he said: that is the one about whom Allah said: إِذَا مَسَّهُ الشَّرُّ جَزُوعًا * وَإِذَا مَسَّهُ الْخَيْرُ مَنُوعًا ("when evil touches him he is full of lamentation, and when good touches him he is grudging"). And it is said: the halūʿ is the one who is full of lamentation and greedy; and this concerns the people of ascribing partners to Allah (shirk).
Abū Kurayb related to us, saying: Ibn Yamān related to us, on the authority of Ashʿath ibn Isḥāq, on the authority of Jaʿfar ibn Abī al-Mughīra, on the authority of Saʿīd ibn Jubayr: إِنَّ الإنْسَانَ خُلِقَ هَلُوعًا ("Truly, man was created impatient"), he said: miserly and full of lamentation.
Ibn Ḥumayd related to us, saying: Mihrān related to us, on the authority of Sufyān, on the authority of Ismāʿīl ibn Abī Khālid, on the authority of ʿIkrima: إِنَّ الإنْسَانَ خُلِقَ هَلُوعًا ("Truly, man was created impatient"), he said: very fretful.
It was related to me on the authority of al-Ḥusayn, he said: I heard Abū Muʿādh say: ʿUbayd related to us, saying: I heard al-Ḍaḥḥāk say: إِنَّ الإنْسَانَ ("Truly, man") — by this the unbeliever is meant — خُلِقَ هَلُوعًا ("was created impatient"), he says: he is miserly, he withholds the good, full of lamentation when the trial befalls him; that is the halūʿ.
Yaḥyā ibn Ḥabīb ibn ʿArabī related to us, saying: Khālid ibn al-Ḥārith related to us, saying: Shuʿba related to us, on the authority of Ḥuṣayn — Yaḥyā said: Khālid said: and I asked Shuʿba about His words: إِنَّ الإنْسَانَ خُلِقَ هَلُوعًا ("Truly, man was created impatient"), and Shuʿba related to me on the authority of Ḥuṣayn that he said: the halūʿ is the greedy one.
Ibn al-Muthannā related to us, saying: Ibn Abī ʿAdī related to us, on the authority of Shuʿba, he said: I asked Ḥuṣayn about this verse: إِنَّ الإنْسَانَ خُلِقَ هَلُوعًا ("Truly, man was created impatient"), he said: greedy.
Yūnus related to us, saying: Ibn Wahb informed us, saying: Ibn Zayd said, concerning His words: إِنَّ الإنْسَانَ خُلِقَ هَلُوعًا ("Truly, man was created impatient"), he said: the halūʿ is the one who is full of lamentation.
Ibn ʿAbd al-Aʿlā related to us, saying: Ibn Thawr related to us, on the authority of Maʿmar, on the authority of Qatāda, concerning His words: خُلِقَ هَلُوعًا ("was created impatient"), he said: full of lamentation.
