Tafseer of The Heights · Al-A'raaf · 7:76

قَالَ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱسْتَكْبَرُوٓا۟ إِنَّا بِٱلَّذِىٓ ءَامَنتُم بِهِۦ كَٰفِرُونَ

Said those who were arrogant, "Indeed we, in that which you have believed, are disbelievers."

    "The arrogant ones said" — those who deemed themselves too great for the command of Allah and the command of His messenger Ṣāliḥ — "We," O people, "in that which you have come to believe" — He says: in that which you have truly come to believe, namely in the prophethood of Ṣāliḥ and that what he has brought is the truth from Allah — "are disbelievers (kāfirūn)" — He says: are deniers and rejecters; we do not believe it and we do not acknowledge it.
