Explanation of His statement, the Exalted: تَبَارَكَ الَّذِي بِيَدِهِ الْمُلْكُ وَهُوَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ ("Blessed is He in whose hand is the dominion, and He is over all things competent") (67:1).
By His statement, the Exalted, whose remembrance is exalted, Blessed (tabāraka) is meant: He is exalted in greatness and lofty in elevation. He in whose hand is the dominion: in whose hand is the dominion of this world and the Hereafter, and the power over both; His command and His decree are operative in both. And He is over all things competent means: and He has the power to do whatever He wills; no preventer holds Him back from doing it, and no incapacity stands between Him and its execution.
