The Exalted, whose praise is exalted, says, informing about His statement on the Day of Resurrection to those who denied His oneness in the worldly life: يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا ("O you who disbelieved") in Allah, لا تَعْتَذِرُوا الْيَوْمَ إِنَّمَا تُجْزَوْنَ مَا كُنْتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ ("do not make excuses today; you are only being recompensed for what you used to do") — He says: it is said to them: you are today only recompensed — and that is the Day of Resurrection — and you receive the requital for your deeds which you used to perform in the worldly life; so seek no excuses for that.
