The Exalted, whose praise is exalted, says: this which I have set forth to you concerning the ruling regarding divorce (ṭalāq), the taking back, and the waiting period (ʿiddah), is the command of Allah which He has imposed upon you; He has sent it down to you, O people, so that you would observe it and act in accordance with it.

And His word: وَمَنْ يَتَّقِ اللَّهَ يُكَفِّرْ عَنْهُ سَيِّئَاتِهِ ("And whoever fears Allah, He will remove from him his evil deeds") says: and whoever fears Allah and is thus pious toward Him by avoiding acts of disobedience to Him and fulfilling His obligations, his sins and evil deeds Allah will efface. وَيُعْظِمْ لَهُ أَجْرًا ("And He will magnify his reward") says: and He will reward him abundantly for that deed of his and his God-fearingness; and among His magnifying of the reward for that is that He will admit him into His garden (janna) and let him abide therein forever.
