Then they His servants are returned to Allah, their true Lord. Unquestionably, His is the judgement, and He is the swiftest of accountants.

Explanation of the words of the Exalted: Then they are returned to Allah, their true Protector. Truly, to Him belongs the judgment, and He is the swiftest of those who take account (62).
Abū Jaʿfar said: The Exalted, mentioned be His name, says: then the angels who took them unto themselves — who seized their souls and spirits — return them to Allah, their true Master, "truly, to Him belongs the judgment," He says: truly, to Him belongs the judgment and the decision, to the exclusion of all His creatures except Him = "and He is the swiftest of those who take account," He says: and He is swifter than anyone in reckoning your number, your deeds, your appointed terms, and all the rest of your affairs, O people, and in totalling them up, and in knowing their measures and magnitudes; for He does not reckon by counting on the hand, but rather He knows that, and nothing of it remains hidden from Him, and not an atom's weight in the heavens or on the earth escapes Him, nor anything smaller than that, nor greater, but it is in a clear book [Surah Sabaʾ: 3].
