No partner has He. And this I have been commanded, and I am the first [among you] of the Muslims."

As for His statement: وأنا أوّل المسلمين ("and I am the first of the Muslims"), concerning this the following applies:
14306 - Muḥammad ibn ʿAbd al-Aʿlā related to us, saying: Muḥammad ibn Thawr related to us, on the authority of Maʿmar, on the authority of Qatāda concerning وأنا أول المسلمين ("and I am the first of the Muslims"); he said: the first of the Muslims of this community (umma).
