Allah has prepared for them a severe punishment. Indeed, it was evil that they were doing.

The word concerning the explanation of His statement, the Exalted: أَعَدَّ اللَّهُ لَهُمْ عَذَابًا شَدِيدًا إِنَّهُمْ سَاءَ مَا كَانُوا يَعْمَلُونَ (15) (Allah has prepared for them a severe punishment. Indeed, evil is that which they used to do).
He, exalted is His mention, says: Allah has prepared for these hypocrites (munāfiqūn), who took the Jews as allies, a severe punishment (ʿadhāb) in the Hereafter. إِنَّهُمْ سَاءَ مَا كَانُوا يَعْمَلُونَ (Indeed, evil is that which they used to do) in this world, with their treachery toward the Muslims and their loyalty to their enemies among the Jews.
