And you become [of] three kinds:

The statement concerning the interpretation of His word, the Exalted: وَكُنْتُمْ أَزْوَاجًا ثَلاثَةً (7) ("And you were three kinds").
The Exalted, whose mention is exalted, says: And you were, O people, three kinds and categories.
As Ibn ʿAbd al-Aʿlā related to us, he said: Ibn Thawr related to us, on the authority of Maʿmar, on the authority of Qatāda, concerning وَكُنْتُمْ أَزْوَاجًا ثَلاثَةً , he said: the ranks of the people on the Day of Resurrection.
