فَشَٰرِبُونَ عَلَيْهِ مِنَ ٱلْحَمِيمِ

And drinking on top of it from scalding water

    The statement concerning the explanation of His word, the Exalted: فَشَارِبُونَ عَلَيْهِ مِنَ الْحَمِيمِ ("And on top of that they will drink of the boiling water") (54)

    He, exalted is His mention, says: and the people of the left hand (aṣḥāb al-shimāl) will drink, on top of the trees of zaqqūm once they have eaten them and filled their bellies with them, from the boiling water (al-ḥamīm) which has reached its utmost boiling point and heat. And it has been said: the meaning of His word فَشَارِبُونَ عَلَيْهِ is: drinking on top of the eating of the trees of zaqqūm.

    القول في تأويل قوله تعالى : فَشَارِبُونَ عَلَيْهِ مِنَ الْحَمِيمِ (54) يقول تعالى ذكره: فشاربٌ أصحابُ الشمال على الشجر من الزَّقوم إذا أكلوه، فملئوا منه بطونهم من الحميم الذي انتهى غليه وحرّه. وقد قيل: إن معنى قوله: (فَشَارِبُونَ عَلَيْهِ ) : فشاربون على الأكل من الشجر من الزقوم.
