So he invoked his Lord, "Indeed, I am overpowered, so help."

And His statement فَدَعَا رَبَّهُ أَنِّي مَغْلُوبٌ فَانْتَصِرْ ("So he called upon his Lord: I am overcome, so give help") (54:10). The Exalted — exalted is His mention — says: So Nūḥ called upon his Lord: My people have overcome me, they have become rebellious and defiant, and I am no match for them; so exact retribution against them with a punishment from You because of their disbelief in You.
