أَمْ لَهُ ٱلْبَنَٰتُ وَلَكُمُ ٱلْبَنُونَ

Or has He daughters while you have sons?

    The explanation of His statement, exalted is He: أَمْ لَهُ الْبَنَاتُ وَلَكُمُ الْبَنُونَ ("Or are the daughters for Him and the sons for you?") (52:39)

    He, exalted is His mention, says to the polytheists among the Quraysh who assign associates to Him: are the daughters for your Lord, O people, and the sons for you? That would then be an unjust division,
