And His word: ( فِي رَقٍّ مَنْشُورٍ ) ("on an unrolled parchment"). He says: on unrolled sheet material.
And His word "fī" ("on/in") is connected to "masṭūr" ("written down"). The meaning of the words is: and a Book that is written in lines, and written on unrolled sheet material.
Bishr related to us, saying: Yazīd related to us, saying: Saʿīd related to us, on the authority of Qatādah: ( فِي رَقٍّ مَنْشُورٍ ) ("on an unrolled parchment"), that is the Book.
Al-Ḥārith related to me, saying: al-Ḥasan related to us, saying: Warqāʾ related to us, on the authority of Ibn Abī Najīḥ, on the authority of Mujāhid: ( فِي رَقٍّ ) ("on a parchment"), he said: the parchment (al-raqq) is the writing-sheet.
