And Paradise will be brought near to the righteous, not far,

Explanation of the saying of the Exalted: وَأُزْلِفَتِ الْجَنَّةُ لِلْمُتَّقِينَ غَيْرَ بَعِيدٍ "And the Garden (janna) will be brought near to the God-fearing, not far away." (31)
The Exalted, whose remembrance is exalted, means by His saying وَأُزْلِفَتِ الْجَنَّةُ لِلْمُتَّقِينَ غَيْرَ بَعِيدٍ : and the Garden (janna) will be approached and brought near for those who feared their Lord, who feared His punishment by performing His obligations and avoiding His acts of disobedience.
And in accordance with what we have said about this, the exegetes have spoken.

Bishr related to us, saying: Yazīd related to us, saying: Saʿīd related to us, on the authority of Qatāda, concerning His saying وَأُزْلِفَتِ الْجَنَّةُ لِلْمُتَّقِينَ — he says: and it was brought near, غَيْرَ بَعِيدٍ ("not far away").
