Tafseer of The letter Qaaf · Qaaf · 50:2
But they wonder that there has come to them a warner from among themselves, and the disbelievers say, "This is an amazing thing.

His saying: بَلْ عَجِبُوا أَنْ جَاءَهُمْ مُنْذِرٌ مِنْهُمْ ("Nay, they marvel that a warner has come to them from among themselves"). The Exalted says to His Prophet Muhammad ﷺ: it is not because the polytheists of your people did not know that you are truthful and speak the truth that they have denied you, O Muhammad; rather, they have denied you out of astonishment that a warner has come to them, warning them of the punishment of Allah, and that from among their own midst — that is to say: a human being from among themselves, from the children of Adam — and that an angel did not come to them with a message from Allah.
And His saying: فَقَالَ الْكَافِرُونَ هَذَا شَيْءٌ عَجِيبٌ ("The disbelievers then say: 'This is a wondrous thing'"). The Exalted says: those who deny Allah and His Messenger, from the Quraysh, said, when a warner from among their own midst came to them: هَذَا شَيْءٌ عَجِيبٌ ("This is a wondrous thing"), that is to say: that a man from among us, from the children of Adam, comes to us with the message of Allah — هَلَّا أُنزِلَ إِلَيْهِ مَلَكٌ فَيَكُونَ مَعَهُ نَذِيرًا ("Why has not an angel been sent down to him, so that he would be a warner together with him?").
