His statement ( أُولَئِكَ الَّذِينَ لَعَنَهُمُ اللَّهُ ) — "Those are the ones whom Allah has cursed" —: the Exalted, whose mention is exalted, says: these who do this, that is to say those who sow corruption and sever the ties of kinship, are the ones whom Allah has cursed and whom He has removed far from His mercy, and whom He has made deaf. He says: He has stripped them of the understanding of what they hear with their ears of the admonitions of Allah in His revelation. ( وَأَعْمَى أَبْصَارَهُمْ ) — "and blinded their eyes" —. He says: and He has stripped them of their reason, so that they can no longer discern the proofs of Allah and no longer remember what they see of His lessons and His signs.
