And never will it benefit you that Day, when you have wronged, that you are [all] sharing in the punishment.

And His statement: ( وَلَنْ يَنْفَعَكُمُ الْيَوْمَ ) (And it will not benefit you this day) — O you who in the life of this world blindly turned away from the remembrance of Allah — ( إِذْ ظَلَمْتُمْ أَنَّكُمْ فِي الْعَذَابِ مُشْتَرِكُونَ ) (since you have done wrong, that you are partners in the punishment) He says: it will not lighten for you this day anything of Allah's punishment (ʿadhāb) that you are partners in it, for each of you has his own share therein. And the "anna" in His statement ( أنَّكُمْ ) (that you) is in the position of the nominative (rafʿ), for the reason I mentioned, namely that the meaning is: your partnership will not benefit you.
